The Electrical Side of Solar, Done Right
Solar panels on the roof are only half of a solar system. The other half is the electrical work that connects it safely to your home and the grid: the inverter wiring, disconnects, the point where the system ties into your panel, and the panel itself. That's where problems and failed inspections usually come from, and it's where Ryan focuses.
Solar Electrical Work We Handle
- Solar system hookups and interconnection to your main panel
- Inverter, disconnect, and combiner wiring
- Battery backup connections and critical-loads (backup) panels
- Main panel upgrades and service upgrades sized for solar
- Troubleshooting existing solar wiring and connections
- Permits and inspection coordination
Is Your Panel Ready for Solar?
Many homes in Oceanside and North County still have their original panel. Electrical code limits how much solar a panel can accept based on its busbar and main breaker ratings, and older panels may not have the capacity or the space. Ryan will look at your panel before the project starts and tell you plainly whether it can handle the system you're planning, or what it would take to get there. See panel upgrades.
Planning Solar, a Battery, and an EV Charger?
These three upgrades share the same panel. Planning them together means the wiring and panel are sized once, instead of paying for upgrades twice. Ryan can lay out the electrical plan for all three, even if you install them over time. See EV charger installation.

Common Questions
Do you install solar panels?
Ryan handles the electrical side of solar: connecting the system to your home, inverter and disconnect wiring, battery backup connections, and any panel work needed to support it. If you're working with a solar company, he can coordinate with them on the electrical work.
Do I need a panel upgrade for solar?
Sometimes. Your main panel's busbar rating limits how much solar power can be fed back into it. If the panel is too small or too old, an upgrade or a different connection method may be needed. Ryan will check before you commit.
Can I add battery backup to my existing solar system?
Often, yes. A battery is usually wired to a backup or critical-loads panel so it powers the circuits you choose during an outage. Ryan can tell you what your current setup allows.
Can you add an EV charger at the same time as solar?
Yes, and it's often smart to plan them together so the panel and wiring are sized once for both.
